THE HONOR FOUNDATION LAUNCHES VECTOR ACCELERATOR

New Program Tackles Missing Piece in Military-to-Civilian Transition for all Service Members and Veterans

April 10, 2025 – San Diego, CA – The Honor Foundation (THF), a nationally recognized transition institute for U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF), has launched Vector Accelerator, a new virtual enrichment program available for free to all active-duty service members and veterans.

For the past decade, THF has helped thousands of SOF members successfully navigate the complex shift from military to civilian life. Now, through Vector, it’s expanding that impact to the broader military community. The program focuses on a key, often-missing step in traditional transition programs: internal reflection and identity work.

Vector helps participants understand who they are, what motivates them, and where they want to go next. Through a series of interactive, self-paced modules—designed to be completed in about five weeks—participants explore personal stories, values, strengths, and goals. This foundational work prepares them to approach civilian life with clarity, confidence, and direction.

The curriculum, adapted from THF’s proven process and developed in partnership with organizations like the YouSchool and Hope Wired, integrates research-backed models such as Narrative Identity, the Science of Hope, and the Self-Concordance Model. Impact measurement is embedded into the experience, with assessments tracking metrics like life satisfaction, resilience, and personal clarity.

Early results have been overwhelmingly positive:

  • 89% of participants reported increased clarity about their identity and future direction
  • 72% expressed a greater sense of hope for what’s next
  • Participants also reported improvements in purpose, relationships, and overall well-being

“Vector is about helping veterans uncover their ‘why’ before jumping into their ‘what,’” said THF CEO Matt Stevens. “We’ve seen firsthand how transformational this kind of introspection can be. Now, we’re making it accessible to every service member and veteran who wants more clarity as they navigate what comes next.”

One early participant, Retired Air Force Veteran Corey Fossbender, described the experience as “a beacon of hope,” and emphasized the camaraderie and personal breakthroughs it fostered.

Vector Accelerator is now open to all current and former members of the U.S. military, regardless of rank, branch, or background.
