04 DOSIER:

Skip McKee, Director of Impact- Northeast

Name:  William “Skip” McKee, Jr.

Where were you born and raised?
Born, Hartford, CT raised in Wethersfield, CT

What’s a short story around the biggest transition you’ve faced in life?
My folks divorced when I was graduating high school, I had no idea how I was going to pay for college let alone anything else that was coming my way. I took a semester off, worked full time and then enrolled in school and continued to work in order to pay the bills and move myself forward. It was not ideal by any sense, commuting to college and working at the same time was not the college experience I had in mind, but it did deliver some valuable lessons about my ability to grind it out and persevere.

What’s the one piece of advice you’d give a younger you?
Keep your eyes wide open and never, ever give up on your dreams and aspirations. They’re there waiting for you to dig in and take them on.

Your Personal Why?
Loyalty and purpose. To a fault…

How does your Why drive you to be a part of the THF Ecosystem?
In order to effectively serve the SOF community and ALL of our partners, basing every morsel of effort and direction on loyalty and purpose is in my mind, an ideal stance on how to initiate, dig in and perform.

Military Connection or Why do you respect Special Operators?
I have countless family members and friends in every generation around me that are or were part of the US military. My connection to my uncles who served in World War II is indelibly forged in me.

Favorite THF Value, and why?
This is a tough one; each of THF’s values ring true to me. Possibly Bold Behavior. What THF does for the SOF community, their partners, and the mission overall that will continue to grow and evolve is nothing short of BOLD.

Area/Industry of expertise:
Sales, marketing, connecting to people and their purposes.
