Matt Wilson

Mr. Wilson has spent almost thirty years in the investment management industry, leading highly successful private equity and credit investments across a broad range of industries. He is currently the Co-Head of the Special Situations Group at Oaktree Capital Management in Los Angeles, where he is responsible for management of the strategy and all of its investing activities. Prior to joining Oaktree nearly twenty years ago, Mr. Wilson worked at H.I.G. Capital, where he was a founding member of Bayside Capital, a firm focused on special situations and credit-oriented investments. Previously, he worked at J.H. Whitney & Co., in its middle market leveraged buyout group and began his career in the Investment Banking division at Merrill Lynch & Co in New York. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Interblock Gaming, Mesquite Entertainment and J&J Ventures Gaming. Mr. Wilson previously served on the boards of AdvancePierre Foods, Agro Merchants, Billabong International, Boardriders, Diamond Foods and Quiksilver. Mr. Wilson also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Board of Directors of All For Kids (f/k/a The Children’s Bureau of Los Angeles), a non-profit focused on strengthening and protecting vulnerable children.

Mr. Wilson currently serves on the Board of Trustees of The College Foundation of the University of Virginia, is a member of the Leadership Circle of the Honor Foundation and is involved with the Third Option Foundation. Mr. Wilson previously served two terms on the Board of Trustees of the Chadwick School, and currently serves as Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Roessler-Chadwick Foundation managing its endowment.

Mr. Wilson is a regular speaker at several leading academic institutions including Boston College, Columbia Business School, Harvard Business School, UCLA and the University of Virginia.

Mr. Wilson graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia with B.A. degrees in economics and history and holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
