Name: Jessica Hunt
Where were you born and raised?
I was born and raised in a small town in Michigan. Actually, it’s a village, that’s how little it is! When I left country living to go to college, I always envisioned my future family living the same life. But California got ahold of me, and I’m not too keen on ever leaving.
What’s a short story around the biggest transition you’ve faced in life?
I think we can all agree that 2020 was a year of change, in and of itself. The chaos of a pandemic compounded the hardship we were already in due to it being a deployment cycle. Take that problematic situation and add in finishing my MBA while supporting my kids through distance learning; I think that’s called transition chaos. Though faithful to the military family creed: we were resilient!
What’s the one piece of advice you’d give a younger you?
Take more risks. Most things don’t go as planned, anyhow!
Your Personal Why?
I am insistent that I make the world a better place. I know that I have to be giving to someone else’s bucket of joy to be truly satisfied with the work I do in my personal and professional life.
How does your Why drive you to be a part of the THF Ecosystem?
I have to say that I am on the right team for my Why. The THF Ecosystem is a partnership of many areas, and the Impact team touches all.
Military Connection or Why do you respect Special Operators?
I have been a SOF spouse for over 15yrs.
Favorite THF Value, and why?
Fierce Empathy. Having a heart that goes beyond just the surface of knowing another person is deep in who I am. Having empathy for their journey, their unique perspectives, and hardships allow for a more meaningful relationship. This value helped guide me into a career with THF.
Area/Industry of expertise:
Relationships. I enjoy all phases of building relationships and can apply them to most areas of business. This allows me to explore another person’s view and analyze how I can partner our unique needs towards a fulfilling transaction.
