Carrie Hamann, Program Coordinator- THF Drew Dix Campus | Colorado Springs

Name:  Carrie Hamann

Where were you born and raised?
I born and raised in a small town near Kansas City, MO. Go Chiefs!

What’s a short story around the biggest transition you’ve faced in life?
The biggest transition of my life so far has been our family’s shift from active-duty military life to a new chapter. Without the constant relocations and with our children now away at college, the rhythm of daily life has slowed and become noticeably quieter. I am slowly learning to embrace this new normal and to redefine my sense of purpose in this next stage of life.

What’s the one piece of advice you’d give a younger you?
Push yourself out of your comfort zone- those experiences will become memories that stay with you. Travel as much and as far as you can, experience what the world has to offer.

Your Personal Why?
Helping others has always been at the core of who I am. I find genuine fulfillment in supporting people, and nothing compares to the satisfaction of witnessing them achieve their goals.

How does your Why drive you to be a part of the THF Ecosystem?
My why aligns naturally with THF mission. Helping others navigate transition and watching them step confidently into their next chapter is exactly what THF does with every cohort. Being a part of that mission allows me to continue my passion for helping service members through one of the most important transitions of their lives.

Military Connection or Why do you respect Special Operators?
I come from a long line of military family. My dad was infantry in the Army during Vietnam, my grandfather was in the Navy during WWII, and my husband served 20 years in the Air Force. I have been fortunate to work alongside the military for almost the entirety of that time. The military community is family, and I stive to support in any way I can.

Favorite THF Value, and why?
My favorite THF value is Fierce Empathy- It’s the commitment to foster understanding and support while encouraging meaningful growth in the members we serve.

Area/Industry of expertise:
I have over 15 years of professional military programming experience to include transition support, resource development and delivery of impactful employment services. I am a passionate military family advocate focused on goal setting, career navigation, and empowering the military community to achieve successful and purposeful transitions.
