Honored Speaker

Michael J. Durant, CW4 (Ret.), USA, is a decorated Army aviator, entrepreneur, and author. After enlisting in 1979, he became a Blackhawk pilot and instructor with the 101st Aviation Battalion before joining the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (“Night Stalkers”), where he served in Operations Prime Chance, Just Cause, Desert Storm, and Restore Hope. Durant was shot down and held captive during the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, an experience he later chronicled in his New York Times bestseller In the Company of Heroes. A master aviator with more than 3,700 flight hours, he founded and chaired Pinnacle Solutions Inc., an engineering and services firm based in Huntsville, Alabama. His many honors include induction into the Army Aviation Association of America Hall of Fame and the Vetrepreneur of the Year award from the National Veteran-Owned Business Association.
