Corporate Strategic Advisor and Senior Vice President
Lt. Gen. Michael Nagata, U.S. Army (Ret.) is Corporate Strategic Advisor and Senior Vice President of CACI International Inc, an international provider of expertise and technology serving enterprise and mission defense, intelligence, and federal civilian government customers.
In this role, Mr. Nagata advises corporate efforts to advance CACI’s presence in national security and supports the development and evolution of CACI’s corporate strategy, with a particular focus on strengthening the company’s ability to anticipate future national security requirements.
Mr. Nagata’s depth of policy, strategy, operational, and combat experience, including senior counterterrorism policy and strategy positions, ensures CACI continues to anticipate and meet the needs of our national security customers. He brings increased value to our customers’ missions, using his keen insights gleaned from more than three decades in top posts within the U.S. Army and Joint Special Operations Forces, the Intelligence Community, and the U.S. Diplomatic community.
Prior to CACI, Mr. Nagata served as director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center’s Directorate of Strategic and Operational Planning. Previously, he served as commander of Special Operations Command-Central, where he helped to oversee the campaign against the Islamic State in the Middle East. As a general officer, he also served as deputy chief of the Office of the Defense Representative to Pakistan and as the deputy director for special operations and counterterrorism on the Joint Staff.

Brooks Herring
Born in Louisiana, raised in South Carolina, forged in the Heat of Battle.Brooks Herring is an award-winning multi-genre singer-songwriter, recording artist, and performer from Conway, SC, based in Nashville, TN. Brooks began writing poetry as a child and picked up playing the trumpet, drums, and guitar in middle school. After joining the U.S. Navy, where he served as a weapons specialist, he felt a burning desire to perform, and deployments were the perfect time to sing, write, and practice. After completing several tours of duty with the Navy and working for the U.S. Army in Afghanistan as a contractor, he continued to play music while obtaining his B.S. in Exercise Science and Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of South Carolina’s Arnold School of Public Health.
Today, Brooks is enrolled in the competitive Songwriting Program at Belmont University in Nashville, and continues to write, record, and release music across multiple genres. Brooks is the feature at private gatherings, public venues, and charitable events almost daily across Nashville, throughout the Carolinas, & Beyond, performing original music and covers inspired from every genre and generation. Brooks primarily plays solo, but also fronts the SC band “Sellout” and duets with many other incredible musicians.
Brooks‘ original music dances somewhere between Country, Rock, and Blues, with strong patriotic undertones inspired by his service in the Navy, and time working for the Army. Off stage, the father of two young men (Kaden and Colton) works as a Physical Therapist and Strength Coach, and devotes much of his time volunteering and advocating for his fellow Veterans.
