Brooks Herring

Born in Louisiana, raised in South Carolina, forged in the Heat of Battle.Brooks Herring is an award-winning multi-genre singer-songwriter, recording artist, and performer from Conway, SC, based in Nashville, TN. Brooks began writing poetry as a child and picked up playing the trumpet, drums, and guitar in middle school. After joining the U.S. Navy, where he served as a weapons specialist, he felt a burning desire to perform, and deployments were the perfect time to sing, write, and practice. After completing several tours of duty with the Navy and working for the U.S. Army in Afghanistan as a contractor, he continued to play music while obtaining his B.S. in Exercise Science and Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of South Carolina’s Arnold School of Public Health.

Today, Brooks is enrolled in the competitive Songwriting Program at Belmont University in Nashville, and continues to write, record, and release music across multiple genres. Brooks is the feature at private gatherings, public venues, and charitable events almost daily across Nashville, throughout the Carolinas, & Beyond, performing original music and covers inspired from every genre and generation. Brooks primarily plays solo, but also fronts the SC band “Sellout” and duets with many other incredible musicians.

Brooks‘ original music dances somewhere between Country, Rock, and Blues, with strong patriotic undertones inspired by his service in the Navy, and time working for the Army. Off stage, the father of two young men (Kaden and Colton) works as a Physical Therapist and Strength Coach, and devotes much of his time volunteering and advocating for his fellow Veterans.
