04 DOSIER:

Chris Bannister, Director of Programs- Camp Lejeune

Name: Chris Bannister

Where were you born and raised?
I am originally from New Orleans, LA. I have moved around quite a bit and wouldn’t say “I was raised in any particular place”.

What’s a short story around the biggest transition you’ve faced in life?
I’ve experienced plenty of transitions. Becoming a father, divorce, deployments/redeployments, getting back to work as an amputee, and the daunting task of transitioning from military to civilian life. Transitioning from SOF has been stressful and a huge learning opportunity. THF helped me understand my “Why”, my strengths, and how these can translate to future opportunities. This continues to prove its value and without THF I don’t believe I would have the same clarity.

What’s the once piece of advice you’d give a younger you?
Be present, slow down and focus on the long game. Enjoy the moments, stay focused on the future, plan close and hold yourself accountable. Always remember, life is a puzzle that doesn’t solve itself. You are the only only one putting it together, so stay hungry.

Your Personal Why?
To frame & develop pragmatic solutions so we are both enabled & prepared to conquer the obstacles.

How does your Why drive you to be a part of the THF Ecosystem?
THF’s mission is to prepare, enable and assist SOF to the next mission life, directly aligns with my Why and desire to continue serving those whom I consider family.

Military Connection or Why do you respect Special Operators?
I’ve been part of the Marine Special Operations Forces community and know what it means to serve where the rubber meets the road. The SOF community is special because of the the individuals who fill the ranks. I am forever connected to those who carried the weight and those who will carry it into the future.

Favorite THF Value, and why?
Be You. Self-awareness is the starting point for the great. Start there are you’re already on the right path.
