JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Impact Manager, West
Full-time/Part-time: Full-Time
Supervisor: VP of Impact

Location:  Western U.S., Southwestern U.S., Texas

The Honor Foundation is searching for a well-spoken, energetic, and dynamic individual to fill the full-time position of Impact Manager for the West Coast, Western United States, and Texas.  

The Impact Manager will be responsible for generating revenue to support The Honor Foundation’s operating budget and long-term financial goals. The successful candidate will be a skilled relationship builder, as demonstrated via in-person and virtual communication platforms, and will have a proven ability to oversee all aspects of the donor engagement process including identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. This position will manage a balanced portfolio of major donors, corporate partners, and foundation partners and will offer value propositions through appropriate messaging and opportunities that benefit The Honor Foundation’s mission and align with funding partner goals. Portfolio responsibilities include maximizing retention and growth to support The Honor Foundation’s mission and vision. This individual will also provide necessary administrative support to THF accounting operations and marketing, as required.

Responsibilities: 

(80%) Fundraising: 

  • (30%) Major Donors
    • Identify prospects through all available avenues, utilizing extensive networking, wealth analytics tools, etc.
    • Identify opportunities to engage new, current, and past donors with the organization through events and programs
    • Created tailored presentations for potential funding partners
    • Manage donor communications timely and effectively to cultivate donor relationships and maximize fundraising opportunities.
    • Increase referrals from current donors through high satisfaction with our philanthropic services
    • Coordinate donor retention program and consistent donor experience
  • (30%) Corporate Partnerships
    • Maintain, identify, and evaluate potential corporate funding partners
    • Present The Honor Foundation’s mission and vision and utilize active listening in order to create meaningful partnerships that are beneficial for THF and funding partners
    • Ensure clear and effective communication, maximizing THF’s value
  • (20%) Foundations
    • Research foundation and grant opportunities
    • Establish relationships with decision-makers and position The Honor Foundation for success in the grant process
    • Maintain a grant calendar for assigned portfolio
    • Draft and submit grants for your portfolio and manage call communication processes
    • Edit and collaborate with the team on other grants

(10%) Development Operations:

  • (5%) Gift Tracking & Donor Stewardship 
    • Ensure accurate gift reporting
    • Ensure appropriate donor recognition and stewardship in a timely manner
    • Update donation tracking reports and assist with audits as necessary
    • Remain up to date on best practices and offer insight and ideas to improve processes
  • (5%) Database
    • Enter and maintain accurate records in THF’s CRM system
    • Manage data integrity to ensure accurate and comprehensive donor and fund records

(5%) Marketing: 

    • Provide materials to marketing as needed for required execution of funding partnerships and stewarding relationships
    • Edit Impact marketing documents
    • Write, gather data, and procure departmental input to facilitate impact messaging.

(5%) Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications:

  • Responsible for goal setting and tracking individual and team revenue goals
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adept at developing and maintaining relationships with existing and potential funders
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, good judgment, and be culturally sensitive
  • Must be able and willing to travel regionally and nationally to represent The Honor Foundation at a variety of events, including military and civic engagements
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment 
  • Ability to adapt and pivot quickly
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and remain aware of deadlines
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and suggest/provide solutions

  • Extensive knowledge of the SOF community is strongly preferred
  • Experience dealing with customers/donors, financial, and legal professionals in various work and social settings

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience strongly preferred
  • 2-5 years of fundraising or applicable sales experience
  • Prior experience with SalesForce, Wealth Engine, and online donation platforms strongly preferred
  • Computer literate including experience with Zoom, G-Suite, Microsoft Office, and Social Media

Environmental/Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Temporary work from home – internet capabilities required
  • Travel required (35-50%)
  • Evening and weekend work is required

Physical/Mental Demands

This position requires sitting and standing associated with a typical office environment as well as web meetings.  Manual dexterity using a computer keyboard. May be required to lift and transport materials up to 50 pounds in weight.
